Growing so fast....

It's time to do my semi-annual update. The kids are growing so fast and it seems that I don't enjoy the computer as much as I once did. We mostly LOVE Jaxon's age. He is super funny and loving. Mya is starting to get a little temper and is not the "angel baby" she once was. She really loves to follow Jaxon and play with his friends. He likes having a follower and talks to her as though he were a celebrity trying to fellowship his greatest fan. Here are some of our latest pictures:

Mya is still pretty red on top and it gets her a lot of attention everywhere we go. She loves the attention! Jaxon is doing great at preschool and doesn't seem to miss home while he is away. He tells Mya "I know you wish you could go, but your just not big enough." They are always making me laugh and I often wonder "if 2 is this much fun, is 3 kids even better?" I'd love to know your opinions.

Happy 1st Birthday Mya

My little girl turned 1 today and we had a party last night, but because so many of our friends and family were not there to celebrate, I decided I needed to add to the old blog. What a year we've had together. Mya is one of the most patient people I've ever known. She came to me with an understanding spirit and didn't seem to mind that she had to take second to her demanding and spirited big brother. I should have guessed by her graceful entrance into this world, that she was a calm and patient person. Mya we love having you in our family. You bring so much balance to our LEO dominant home.

The party was great. Ryan loves to give our kids independence, so this wasn't the first time that she was given something delicious to eat with a utensil. She loved the cake, but I think she actually enjoyed sitting with the group even more. She loves to do everything Jaxon is doing.

At 1 yr Mya likes to walk, dance, laugh, sign, eat and play with Jaxon. She dances to any music and laughs when she hears others laugh. One of my favorite things about Mya is that she wakes up whispering and I often wonder how long she has been awake when I finally hear her. She is such a sweet heart.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MYA!!!!
I hope this year is even better than the last.

October Update

My sister Alicia visited with my sweet little niece Gracy. Gracie and Mya are only 3 wks apart.

My grandpa George is now living at my Mom's in Alpine and we are getting a lot of time with this sweet guy.

Just cute!

Jaxon wants to be involved in everything Mya is doing and LOVES her. Actually Mya smiles at Jax all the time and doesn't seem to mind his load voice or combative actions.

Jaxon was imitating Grandma Joy:)

Grandpa and Grandma Becker visited from Colorado and stayed with us for a weekend, we loved the company and extra hands. Hated to see them go.
I would be lying if I didn't mention what a hard month this was. I am so thankful for thoughtful friends, neighbors and family. I don't know what I'd do without all of you.

ONE MONTH ALREADY

So, Mya is 1 month today and I decided it was time to update the blog. It all started on the evening of Aug 28th.... I was super grumpy all day and my sister Carrie came over, she told me she thought I was going into labor. She insisted on taking Jaxon up to my Brother-in-law's house for the night, so I could get some rest. Well, she was right. Around 11 p.m. I started having some irregular contractions and they never became regular, but I listened to my hypnosis C.D. to stay relaxed. At 1 a.m. Carrie insisted that I go to the hospital, because she knew nothing about labor and birth, but felt concerned. I didn't want to go and even told Carrie "go home, you are making me feel stressed." We went to the hospital and arrived at 1:57 a.m.
The L&D nurse checked me and she said "I can't even feel your cervix, you are fully dilated" I was shocked! I told Carrie to call my mom and the nurse grabbed my doctor, who was sleeping at the hospital on call that night. When they returned I asked if I could push and before they could say "no" my water broke. Dr. Stowers finished getting ready and said "now it's okay to push". Two pushes later at 2:20 a.m. I had a baby girl! She was so calm as she sucked her little fist. I thought I was having a girl, but when I saw her and held her for the first time I was so excited to have a daughter and I was instintly in love with her.
I wish so much that Ryan could hold her, she is so SWEET. She rarely cries and rarely gets held d/t her busy brother. Mya is a little angel with a very calm spirit. So, here are some pictures:
After Mya's first bath, Jaxon stripped down and jumped in her tub to try it out. And this is the first time Mya and Jaxon met each other.

24 August 2010

This has been a challenging week, I have been so anxious between phone calls from Ryan and we just needed to be cheered up. When Jaxon and I saw this bear I knew it was going home with us. I laughed all the way through Costco b/c it was so big that I couldn't see where we were going and it was overflowing onto Jaxon. It has literally been entertaining Jaxon for 3 days. He runs to it in the morning and wrestles with it and than he wants to watch movies or play while laying on it. It is the cutest thing!
These are some pics from Ryan's 4 day pass. Jaxon and I went out to Minneapolis and had a great weekend. It was amazing to me that Jaxon was so comfortable with Ryan. He went right to him and stayed at his side for 4 days and than simply said "Dad is working" when we left for home. He is a great kid with so much love and excitement for life. I'm sure he has made my life easier rather than harder over the past 2 months. I am thankful everyday for the opportunity to be a mom and feel so much love.

PICTURES

If you are ever in the Blanding area, there is a really great photographer named Brooke Pehrson, you'll have to look her up and schedule a photo session with her. She offered the 118th Army families free sittings and later just gave us the rights to the pictures. I can only imagine the time she spent to shoot and edit all these pictures. We were really grateful for this gift, because we never would have made the time to take family pictures. Anyways...... Here are some of the pictures:
